Physical Therapy Director Dave Crawford has retired from Hocking Valley Community Hospital after more than 30 years of service.
“HVCH has been a major player in my professional life, starting here as a part time summer job, an ‘orderly’ on Medical Surgical floor, and continuing in a professional role when we first opened the Physical Therapy Department in the fall of 1980 with three on staff,” Crawford said. “Thanks for making my time at HVCH the adventure of a lifetime! It has been a great ride. I appreciate all the relationships I’ve made with coworkers and the community over the years.”
“Congratulations to a friend, colleague and coworker,” Julie Stuck, HVCH president and CEO, said. “Dave has had the opportunity to treat three to four generations in the same family over his 30 years of seeing patients at HVCH. Without a doubt, he has been the driving force behind the success of our Physical Therapy Department. There will be a void left behind; however, Dave has left the department in good hands.”
Cart Switzer has been named the new director of the physical therapy department upon Crawford’s retirement.
Crawford said he has no plans for his retirement, but looks forward to running into the many people he has met in the community throughout the years.
“Dave will certainly be missed, but we are happy for him and excited for this new chapter in his life,” Stuck said.
